Field Workshops What is The Field? The Field was founded in 1985 by Wendy Lasica, who established The Field as a performance space in SoHo and directed its development until 1987. Artists met at this space regularly to help each other improve their artwork and counter the isolation that often comes with the territory of an artistic career. Organically, a distinct method of developing work evolved into what is now known as “Fieldwork” and The Field grew into a valuable service organization for artists.  The Field is based in New York City with over a dozen network sites that include Miami, Seattle, San Francisco, Chicago, Berlin, and Vienna. DTC is the official network site for The Field in Salt Lake City. Who can come and how does it work? Artists working in all mediums of art (performance, visual, literary, film/video) are accepted to Field Workshops on a first come first serve basis.
