Field Workshops

What is The Field?
The Field was founded in 1985 by Wendy Lasica, who established The Field as a performance space in SoHo and directed its development until 1987. Artists met at this space regularly to help each other improve their artwork and counter the isolation that often comes with the territory of an artistic career. Organically, a distinct method of developing work evolved into what is now known as “Fieldwork” and The Field grew into a valuable service organization for artists.  The Field is based in New York City with over a dozen network sites that include Miami, Seattle, San Francisco, Chicago, Berlin, and Vienna. DTC is the official network site for The Field in Salt Lake City.

Who can come and how does it work?
Artists working in all mediums of art (performance, visual, literary, film/video) are accepted to Field Workshops on a first come first serve basis. Participants often include established professional artists as well as emerging artists.  Early registration is recommended as workshops often fill (waiting lists are available).  You can register any time prior to a workshop once it is listed on the DTC website.  When payment is received, your slot is reserved.  NO REFUNDS are issued after payment - if you cannot attend the workshop you registered for, you can apply the fee amount to a future workshop, but you cannot receive a refund.
