What is the Field?
The Field was founded in 1985 by Wendy Lasica, who established The Field as a performance space in Soho and directed its development until 1987. Artists met at this space regularly to help each other improve their artwork and counter the isolation that often comes with the territory of an artistic career. Organically, a distinct method of developing work evolved into what is now known as “Fieldwork” and The Field grew into a valuable service organization for artists. The Field has reached beyond NYC over the years with 15 satellite Field sites that include Chicago, Seattle, Houston, Salt Lake City and even as far as Tokyo, Japan.

Spring 2009 Workshops (8 week session): Monday nights 6:30 - 9:00pm
February 23rd - April 13th, 2009 (facilitator Margaret Willis) held at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center, 138 West 300 South, Salt Lake City.
Workshop fee $70

Artists are accepted to Field Workshops on a first come first serve basis. Artists of any level may participate. Our workshop participants often include established professional artists as well as beginning artists. Workshops are limited to 8 participants and early registration is recommended as workshops often fill and have a waiting list. You can register at any time prior to the workshop. Once payment is received your slot is reserved. NO REFUNDS are issued after payment is received - if you cannot attend the workshop you registered for, you can apply the fee to a future workshop, but you cannot receive a refund.
